if i could change your mind (haul)

Hey guys! Sorry I keep disappearing, things have been a little hectic lately and I'm trying to find a better day to post stuff than monday or tuesday. Any ideas?
Anyway, here's what I've bought in the last month or two. I usually don't buy this much but I went shopping a lot recently and had christmas and birthday money to spend so I splurged. :)

Let's get to it!
So a while ago, my cousin and I went to a flea market where I bought these black, ripped, high waisted, vintage Levi's. They're super comfy and they're not skinny jeans but they're not super loose either. They're looser on the legs so I wear them rolled about two inches above my ankle.

I also bought a blue vintage gipsy-like maxi skirt with moons and stars on it. It's so flowy and comfy and pretty and I love it hihi.

I got a vintage Morgan mod-type skirt as well. It's short and has a sort of sailor yet preppy yet mean girl vibe. Sailor because of the six buttons on both sides of the waist. Preppy because I feel like I'm channeling my inner Cher, Tai or Dionne from Clueless. And finally, mean girl because it makes me think of Mean Girls. I will make fetch happen in this skirt!

Accessory-wise, I purchased a red rose wreath/headband. I love the headband so much. It holds really well (even when I run!) and I feel like a princess in it and come on, who doesn't wanna feel like a princess?!

I also obtained (see how I'm using synonyms of buy, I have such good vocabulary) 3 pins for $5 -- one of Morticia Addams, one of Lydia Deetz (Winona Ryder) from Beetlejuice, and one of Tai (Brittany Murphy) from Clueless when she says "You're a virgin who can't drive."
~Feel the sass~
The artist draws and makes the pins himself and he helped me pick which ones to take because there were so many and I am very indecisive!
I also got light blue/green nail polish from H&M for $1.
I've gotten nail polish from H&M before and so far it's worked really well, especially considering how cheap it is!

Our second day of spring break, my friends and I had a girls day and went shopping (of course). We had a blast (woot woot) and one of my friends and I bought matching shoes from Forever 21 because we're adorkable.
They kind of remind me of doc martens but 1) with a heel, 2) slimmer and 3) much more feminine. I also love the chunky heel. They're so comfy because while they're high, it's mostly because of the platform so the heel basically feels flat.
Plus, they remind me of one of my favourite blogger's style: Hannah from Daisies & Doc Martens!

I also bought a new bathing suit from American Apparel with a gift card from Christmas.
I love the pattern and how pale the colours are. I also really like the shape/cut. Plus, I really needed a bathing suit and had been eyeing this one for a while.

Last but not least, I bought this blue oversized flannel shirt and a grey crop top from H&M.
The flannel shirt is super soft and it's warm without being too warm, so I can wear it as either a shirt, cardigan-type-thing or even a dress with leggins and a belt.
The crop top is made of stretchy material and is also really comfortable.

Have you bought anything lately? What kind of things do you like to buy?
This was my first haul post, what did you think? Should I do more?
The title is a lyric from If I Could Change Your Mind by HAIM.
Thanks for reading! x

there's a whole world out there (washington dc)

Hellooooo darlings!
I feel like we're all traveling these days, and since you were all kind enough to share pictures of your trips, I thought I'd share mine too! This is kind of a photo heavy post but I picked my favourite of the gazillion I took so bear with me please. :)

Two weeks ago, I went to Washington DC on a class trip and it was amazing and kind of crazy!
The organizer was really... well disorganized so we walked in circles and got lost a lot (even though she was looking at a map. On her phone. Which just by the way was in her hands). Also, the food was mostly salad and burgers but other than that, the trip was full of really cool museums, walking, a lot of monuments, and going from room to room in the hotel. It was delightful to see so much grass and greenery and have it actually smell and feel like spring as opposed to summer 24/7, even if that meant putting my sweater on then taking it off then wearing three sweaters then none again.

The really really fun part though was that, when we got to the hotel every night, the teachers would lock themselves up in their rooms and let us run around to each other's rooms, to the gym and anywhere else in the hotel. Some people had a pillow/candy fight the first night and -- don't ask me why -- but someone brought out a cheese grater (???)
In my room, my friends and I built a fort, had a dance party (loud music, bed jumping and all) and laughed at reality tv shows. We also went to the gym once to play with the machines, got pranked called by the guys a million times, played an intense game of uno which led to a short pillow fight (me attacking my friend and then people throwing pillows at me) and played ding-dong-ditch.
I know, I know, you're wishing you could be as mature as us!
(You probably can't, sorry...)

If you go, I really recommend going to:
the Holocaust museum (they have a four floor exhibit so make sure you plan enough time to see most of it),
the National Museum of American History,
the Library of Congress (the architecture inside and out is beautiful),
the Air & Space museum, the White House, the Capitol,
the National Building Museum (the architecture is beautiful and they had fun activities but the tour was a little boring),
the Smithsonian American Art Museum, and going on the Ford Theatre Detective McDivitt Investigation tour (an actor plays the detective in charge of Lincoln's assassination and takes you to all the different places where the events happened),
and seeing all the monuments during the day and at night.

Have you ever been on a class trip or to DC? What was your favourite trip?
